Turbo WUR?? need CIS Gurus help

So, for my BAE turbo project, which I am just about ready to put together, I have been contemplating fuel enrichment. I recall hearing of some older Volvos and Audis, among others, having a WUR which essentially had a two prong method of dropping control pressure; one through the conventional bimetallic element, and a second through a diaphragm which worked off or vacuum or boost.

Does anyone know of such a device, or is my mind making this up as a cruel trick? If these do exist, I really am having trouble finding one.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks!
Pat

Yes, this is how the WUR behaves on a 911 Turbo (930). In addition to the bi-metallic element, it also has a diaphragm which reacts to manifold pressure which is taken from beneath the throttle butterfly. When manifold pressure acts upon this diaphragm, the control pressure is lowered, thus giving enrichment. If you are looking for a 930 WUR to try on your car, I would recommend any of the following Bosch P/N's:

0 438 140 054
0 438 140 112
0 438 140 153

Let me know what happens.

Pat,

Here are the factory specs on the WURs listed in my previous reply:

All of these WURs are very similar to each other and with a little creativity each unit can be adjusted to meet whatever specifications you might need.

Hope that helps!

Brian,
I am about to adjust my modified WUR tonight. In my own previous thread, I asked what control pressures I should adjust to. Paulporsche listed out the numbers, but no one had those nice graphs. Where did they come from and would you happen to have the same charts for a '78 SC ROW?

JLGarbanzo,

Those charts came from the 911 Turbo factory engine manual. It is a must-have for the turbo guys. Sorry, but I don't have the manuals for an SC. What's the Bosch P/N on your WUR? I'm sure someone on the BBS can help you out. Anyone?...Anyone?...

Cheers,
