MFI question

I'm helping a friend bring a long-sitting engine back to life. Everything was frozen, but Marvel Mystery oil has the engine turning over and the MFI linkage moving as it should.

The engine won't start, and seems to have a myriad of problems. One was an internal short in the distributor. Now the engine catches, but will not run. The fuel pump is working fine, but the MFI pump itself isn't. with the side plate off, you can see two of three of the fuel pistons move up and down. Through the gaps underneath, you can see the cam turning. But the little piston for cylinder #5 isn't moving, althoug it can be 'persuaded' with a screwdriver to move...

Any advice on bringing one of these back to life?

Soak it in B-12 Chemtool for a week, or two!

Be sure to inspect/clean/seal fuel tank and bronze pre-filter! Blow through lines in tunnel to see if clogged with rust/debris ... replace as needed!

Thank you, Warren!
