What have I got here: 6's & 8's?

Hey guys,

Please have a look and tell me if these wheels appear to be 6's and 8's on my '89 Carrera. Is this info stamped somewhere on the wheel perhaps? Tire sizes are 205/55-16 and 225/50-16 respectively, but I know that these tire sizes could fit a variety of wheel sizes.

I guess to my eye, the pedals on the fronts just don't look inset enough vs. the rears and so I'd like to get deeper front wheels to balance out the look a bit. Anyway, here are the pics....thanks!!

It's marked on the backside of the wheel 6J16, 8J16. What you have there appears to be 6's and 8's as you have noted.

7's were stock rears for 87', 8's were stock for 88 and optional for 89'. 6's seem to be in demand so you'l probably have no problem selling them. You already have the 'hard-to-get' 8's. Get a set of 7's for the front and you have a great look.

Sure enough.....6's and 8's! (see pic below). Thanks a bunch guys! I feel much better just knowing what I've got here. I'm definitely planning to go to 7's up front (keeping the tire size at 205/55).

I'm also considering having Mr. Al Reed anodize the pedals (sp?). Polished might be too much bling for me, plus there isn't anything else shiny on the car to pick up the polishing in the wheels. I don't mind the "cloudiness" of the stock anodization on the outer rims, so that should look good on the pedals too I think. I also like the "frosted" look too....worth considering for sure.

Does anyone know if Al has 7" wheels "in stock" that he might sell? That way I would only have to ship him the 8's for refinishing, and I could just sell the 6's.

Thanks again!!

I had to roll my fenders to make 7s and 205s fit on the front.
