84 Carerra Throttle Body Threaded Port - ??

On an 84 Carrera throttle body, the side toward the back of the car, next to the adjusting screw, is a threaded port as arrowed in the following photo.

What is this port 'usually' used for?

And if it's not used for that - does it need to be sealed off? (Will it leak air?)

thanks!
Jim

that hole is for the bracket that holds the off throttle micro switch connector
probably in another baggie filled with nice shinny parts?
edit, no it won't leak if you're not using an idle switch

Nope, Jerry - not using that: mine's a Clewett - Electromotive EFI conversion, so I'll just ignore it...thanks to your elucidation!

Thanks again,
Jim

Uh..ok...

I'll make a new post so that it's easier to load pics, and title it...

Thanks for your interest,
