Smile Weight, Tranny, Musings: New SC Owner

Hello Evreyone:

A few tid-bits regarding my one weeks worth of time with our new baby, a slilver over black '79 SC...

Lowered the front end as the PO had set it as high as it would go to get in and out of his devilish driveway. Looked so goofy... but now she's set at approx Euro height and no bump-steer issues. I plan to add the bump-steer kit this winter during a suspension update though.

All stock with only power windows, sunroof and OEM spoilers fore and aft. Weighed her at work on our certified scale with a half tank of gas: 2620 lbs. All I had removed as of yestreday were the smog pump, front and rear AC radiators, and no spare or tools in trunk. How does this seem to stack up in your minds?

Recieved my ODYSSEY PC680T battery yesterday (after weighing her) and mounted in the evening. What a tiny package, should have bought three and daisy-chained to fill the void left by the the original beast... LOL! Brings me down to 2590 or so...

Should recieve my shifter spring kit, new smile bumper protector, and misc. hardware pieces to fix poor mounting job of chin spoiler by PO from Pelican soon... Can't wait!

Removing the rest of the AC crap inlcuding compressor this morning... More pounds shed.

Can't get over how quick our little baby is, especially for being almost 30 years old. Truly amazing!

Seems to draw the most interest from little kids! Everywhere we go with her it's the kids on bikes, playing in the front yard, etc. that give us the thumbs-up and huge smiles. Was at the gas station yesterday with car full of brats next to me giving mom hell as she was filling her tank. As I'm filling up one of the young boys perks-up and says to himself slowly, "Pooooorsche"... Classic! Brought an even broader smile to my face as I remembered being a kid in the late 70' and early '80 lusting after 'my baby'...

I'll try to update with my baby's weight as I remove junk, etc.

Have a great weekend!

Eric

How can you possibly start a thread about your new car without posting pictures? Get cracking man!
