Sources for steel fuel lines
I am revamping the fuel system in my 911 race car (carbs)
What is a good source for steel fuel lines? |
Why not use hydraulic steel tube and JIC flare fittings? Cheap, relaible, easy to bend, and pressure rated.
Look in the yellow pages for a hydraulic supply house. |
Do you have a picture of the fuel lines you want to replace? I might be able to help you.
|
I am not replacing any hard lines only adding one from the rear of the car to the front
|
the fuel inlet and return "hard" lines exit the tunnel in my car with a coupling to rubber lines. I disconnected the 2 rubber line couplings and brought them + hoses to a hose shop. They used the couplings on 2 ss 6AN hoses.

I did a search no luck |
I believe you need 3/8" supply, 1/4" return.

Some wanted info may be these threads

Eastwood sell 5/16 brake line which is a match for the fuel line on my 69

Pressure line is nearly 5/16", which is a common hardline fuel line size. Porsche factory used 8mm OD on many early cars. I revamped my fuel system like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=222204&highlight=earls+ fittings
As you'll see in that thread, 8mm is VERY close to 5/16". I'd order 5/16" hard line in bulk from Summit. I think you can buy Stainless or mild steel or AL. Doug |
