Seat Upgrade on a 81 911 SC

Hi All

I did some searching in the forums and couldn't find the answer, so I thought I would post my question

I have a 1981 911SC that I am spending some time and money on... love that car.

One of the things I need to change is my front seat, that are very worn.. Someone locally has Pair of heated black leather Sport Seats from a 1994 911 also known as a 964.

They are in very good condition, he has indicated that he "believes" that they are a direct bolt in for my car.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Navi

They will bolt right in. I have a set of seats out of a 92 964 RSA in my '79 SC. The heated and power seats are very heavy compared to manual if that is in fact what you have now. Nice upgrade still.

Why not just have a pro recover the original seats?

sometimes it is cheaper to buy new seats. i just picked up a pair of 993 power seats to replace the stock seats in my SC for $375 and they are in excellent condition. a quality recover, which imho is usually not as nice as a factory finish, was estimated at $900 locally.

Hi All'

Thanks for the reply's, when I checked around locally the redo cost in leather was way up there, and it seemed that no one was willing to say that they would not look like a recover.

Recover kits in leather also a bit heavy for me right now...

Good used seats look like the easiest way to go, one less thing on the long list of things

Thanks for the relies

Cheers
Navi
