Aftermarket exhaust for 3.0 suggestions and opinions

Looking into doing a cat back exhaust swap on my 82SC w/ 3.0.

Just looking for opinions on different mufflers and setups and what brands/models people are using.

Which ones sound the best.
Which offer noticeable performance improvements.
Best bang (not literally) for the buck.
Blah blah blah.

I have not seen a dansk that looks like that. It resembles a ghl or even B&B to me. Interesting guess I learn somthing new

Do a search here. This topic is discussed just about weekly.
I have a Flo-Pro and I like the sound. Other Porsche guys have commented on the sound being sweet as well.

You must have your pics mixed up. This is neither a Dansk, nor a two in, one out.

I'm saving my pennies for a M & K single in dual out! From what I've read, and mb911(BEN) is the man making them, I'm sold! Do some research and check out M & K's web page! They are also available from our sponsor. Contact them directly and make a deal! Best of luck with whatever you go with!

I agree on the M+K. They do sound awesome but if you are strictly looking to save money the Flaumeister or Flo-Pro is the ticket at around $120.00 installed by a local muffler shop.

hey

honestly you should go with an M&K no matter which header system you are running.

they operate on a more personel basis, and are true to the porsche style and sound.

they offer reasonable pricing. and make many different styles

i have personel experience with magnaflow, and flowmaster...and i'm awaiting my M&K but i know its the best

the magnaflow was really loud, and the flowmaster was nice but didn't ring porsche in my ears.....

for headers i'd recommend SSI's if your price conscious....but for all out HP and sound i'd go B&B...well i did....

however i guess it depends on your goals...there is another guy on the forum here that makes headers...and they seem popular.

So I was considering a nearly new Bursch glass pak muffler from a pelicaner but now I'm not so sure. I have two questions regarding the M&K.

I have a 901 that turns 3200 at highway speeds. I would dread getting a muffler that drones around that RPM band. At what point does the M&K resonate?

Does the M&K have lower back pressure? And can I expect greater power from my 3.0 going through the SSIs currently on it.? I have stock muffler at this point.

if you call and talk with ben or one of the other guys they will answer all of your questions honestly...

just ask if it resonates at highway speeds...or at 3200rpm..

but aside from a few one offs (the elbow, etc.), i;ve never heard of any resonating issues....

cheers
Nick
