Hello All,
I just purchased a very nice condition 1985 911. My question is that when I turn the ignition on (without starting), the oil pressure guage jumps up to 1 BAR. Pressure appears to be normal when the engine starts. Is this 'jump' when switching ignition to 'ON' normal, or does it require attention? Thanks, Chris L. |

Not normal. Try cleaning the connector on the sender down by the lower right side of the engine fan.

Hi Chris...I just switched mine on and it came up to about 1/3 of the way between 0 and 1 BAR - likely the sender is off at 0 and can eventually be replaced, but no rush if everything else is normal, enjoy!!
