Is this a PO customisation?

I was yesterday told (by someone who confesses to be a 911 expert) that this pipe (see image) is not correct for my age engine. But he could not say what was wrong or where it actually should go!?! Anyone else out there with a 78SC able to say if they have this pipe or not??

Hi
Its a breather pipe, my 76 had one but my 80SC engine had the pipe on the tank connected behind the CIS somewhere I cant remember exactly where and the pipe coming out of the airbox was plugged.
your engine was probably one of the last to have the earlier setup

Hope this helps

Tim

Cool thank you both. Then I am happy that it is correct for my engine

Don't remember seeing it on my 78. The other line behind it and below it acts as the breather on my car. Will have to look when I get home tonight

Thank you Oasidak. You have a Euro 78SC like me, so the engine should be the same. If it is not, can you please post some pics so that I can try to figure out what is changed and what I should look to replace...
