Another weber question
 

I had my webers adjusted and they are running pretty good exept when I come to a stop, when I stop the car stays at about 2300 rpm. I can put a little load on the engine and it will drop back down to a respectable rpm level. I heard that if the seals and such are worn that they can leak air and cause this. Could this be?

That is what I was told too and also if the advance weights are sticking and the timing stays too far advanced the high idle can result. I rebuilt the Webers (44IDF) on my race car and there was a lot of "gas goop" inside, all the gaskets were pretty dried and there was a fair amount of soot buildup around the throttle shaft/butterfly. After a thorough cleaning the high idle problem went away. I did check my advance weights and found them free so I guess it was something with the carbs. Good luck.

My recommendation would be to fax PMO and get a hold of some quality rebuild kits, buy the Haynes manual, and take two(or so) days to completely break down, clean, and rebuild your Webers. This can only improve the way the car runs.

Don't believe the hype. The rebuild process is complicated, but it can can accomplished with little pain and aggrevation. My 40 IDA3C were very dirty inside and although the car ran ok, I guarantee a marked improvement upon reinstallation. If you have any questions regarding the process please drop me an email.
