Tire Recommendation for 6 x 15 Fuchs

Replacing tires on a 911 I am buying and would like to know what the board recommends? I will not be auto crossing, just a weekend cruiser.

Or, if you want to make the most of your gearing, get the car a little closer to the ground, and shave a few pounds, 205-50-15s.

Along with many of us with 16" fuchs, consider getting a set of 17" wheels...Manufacturers aren't offering much in performance 16's now either.

Porsche Crest

You can functionally duplicate the '73 RS 2.7 setup with Pirelli P6000 195/65WR-15 ft & 215/60WR-15 rr tires ... other brands, too, including Yokohama AVS dB S2, Bridgestone Potenza RE950, and Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position.

The 215/60WR-15 is rated for installation on rims 6" - 7.5", so fitment on 6" Fuchs is no problem ... I have done it myself and they work great! The Pirelli WR-rated P6000s are rated UTQG 180AA, and good up 186 mph, and Porsche OE approved for all '73 - '89 models that came with 185/70VR-15 & 215/60VR-15 tires!

There is a school of thought that it's best to try to match the original tires' overall rolling diameter, and Warren's recommendations do a pretty good job of that.

Good luck!

I use Bridgestone RE950's in 205/60/15 on my stock '74 911 with no problems.
