curly dashboard

My new Carrera is pristine except for the warped dash. Anybody know where and how to get this fixed?

Buy a dash cap. I put one on mine and I am pleasantly surprised at how well it fit and looks. My dash was not warped but had cracks so you might need to sand yours down to get it to fit nice.

My dash is dark blue leather andthe leather has no cracks or tears. Whatever the dahs is made of has warped from heat in several places. Not sure a cap will work.

The caps come black and can be painted. Its probably going to be your cheapest route. I bought mine on Ebay for under $75 with shipping. I dont think I will ever change it out because unless you look real close, you can't tell.

If your car is truly "pristine," as you put it, a dashcap isn't the way to go. Bite the bullet and replace the dash. Jason Cullen here on the board sells dashes, and may be able to do one in blue for you. They're not cheap, but if the car is pristine don't "f" it up with a dash toupee.

My $.02.

The only other place i have problems is under the back window, but it is only curled a little bit. I am thinking about replacing the rear seat back and shelf anyway so i can get some real speakers in there. One vendor in Excellence sells those in custom colors for $350. Not bad. I may have to look up Jason. The rst of the interior and the exterior isin great shape. The guy who put my new tires on couldn't believethat the car was 21 yeas old. He said that even the undercoating looked like it had just been applied.

So it's not the dashboard, but in fact is the rear shelf/deck?

No....dashboard has multiple bubblesand ripples where it meets the windshield. The actual dashboard structure has warped, and buckled but the leather is completely intact.

Contact Jason regarding the dash. He seems like a good guy, and may be able to help.

From what I understand, once the dash warps there's nothing that can be done to fix the dash structure. It has to be replaced, even if the outside leather skin is still intact.

Good luck!

Just sent an e-mail to Jason. Thanks for the heads up. Just out of curiosity.....what engine do you have in your Bell?
