Yes it's valuable. As to value, it's probably around 20-25K but that really depends on condition and matching #s. According to BA (Bruce Anderson) it's value is:
Low-$17805 Good-$20244 High--$27100 HTH.

20K in average condition, average being what it is for a 36 YO car. They go from that to over 50K. (Easily)
Add for Recaro sport seats and deep 6" Fuchs wheels. Add for completely original. Add for original paint in good or better condition. Add, add and add. There's a lot to this.

Of course, you have to make sure it's an actual S, and not just a car somebody put an S badge on.

There is no premium on the S models after 1973 -- at least not for the next 20 years or so.
