Horsepower estimates

Want to see what some of you guys who have done the EFI conversion think my hp will be at. Im going to be running the EFI conversion kit goingsuperfast.com sells. Im using 83 lb injectors with dta pro8 ecu. Im going to stay with single plug and stock manifold for now. I will be running his intercooler along with a SFR GT35R turbo, headers, zork tube, msd ignition, 10mm magnecor wires, methanol injection, gt evo cams, 11o octane (does that matter?) and 1.2 bar of boost. Hoping I can be in the 400 horsepower range. I will go with twin plugs and carrera manifold in the near future. Thanks guys

I have:

Tec3 EFI, carrera heads and intake manifold, twin plug, 964s cams, 1.0 bar boost, IA-HFS turbo, Kokeln IC, and GHL headers. I got 400/400 to the wheels on pump 93 gas.

With your methanol, larger injectors, different turbo, larger boost, who knows. I would guess 500 at the wheels?

No extra power but nice safety factor. Most people I spoke with said it is completely unneccessary on turbos. I still added them because the heads I got were already drilled for them and the EFI system was twin plug capable as well. Plus extra safety (even if unnecccessary) is a good thing.

I hope that those same people will chip in on a new engine when you grenade the one you have...

No grenades here I hope. I did go with twin plug, whether it was neccessary or not.

I would also guess closer to 500 at the wheels.

Sorry for the response. There are lots of opinions on engines - but I heave learned to trust those from people like steve weiner, henry schmidt, chris streit.

I would twin plug a turbo engine for the additional margin of safety = my guess for your engine would be 470-490. Should be alot of fun!

Mikey930, let us know when you get some results. I am considering methonal injection as well and would like to see someone else running a similar (not exact) setup.

1.2 bar.........buena suerte, my friend.
Experience - WAY more than I care for - tells me solidly that 1.2 is insane. Even with EFI. Stop at 1 bar.

For track work.......forget about it. I can help you recycle the aluminum bits and pick up rings with a magnet.

craig, thats why I run methanol, it allows for more boost and timing, but I do beleive your right. I would hate myself if I blew the engine up after all the work. I will probably stop it at 1 bar.

I would also stop at 1 bar.

The engine will love you much longer...

You'll be BEYOND HAPPY at 1 bar with EFI - or even at .8 bar for that matter.

Who is doing the work and tuning?
