can anodized be polished? anyone know... if the anodized surface on fuchs rims is harder than aluminum, is there a safe way to polish the rim and spokes that won't ruin this finish? I am trying to keep the anodized look. TIA. Paul. |

If you want to keep the anodized finish you can't realy polish. You can use a light cleaner and wax on the anodized part. The spokes are painted, not anodized. |

They used to say around here to put Vaseline on them to make the anodize look at it's best. Just a little, rubbed well. Never tried it, but I've seen that recommendation a dozen times. |

There are several types of anodizing. The two that come to mind are decorative, (which is what your wheels are) and hard anodizing. If you try to polish the decorative it will first discolor, and then you will wear through it. Hard anodizing will also discolor, but with alot more effort. However, you would have an extremely tough time trying to polish through hard anodizing. |
