71 rear suspension fit on an 84 chassis?

I may need to move an 84 tub and currently have my 71 911T suspension available. Will this work? I am thinking the front should bolt right up, not so sure about the steel control arm type rear setup from the early car.

Yes, it will bolt up ... though the anti-roll bar won't attach - linkage is different.

Great...I was also thinking there was some other dimensional difference with the pre-72 cars, couldn't put my finger on it.

If I remember back that far, the angle of the rear shock mounting was a little different as well.

But one could use a '71 or earlier sway bar with the appropriate drop links.

Rear shocks for a 69-71 will also be needed because the lower shock mount is different. The toe and camber eccentrics are also different (shorter).

IMHO, you should supply full disclosure to the new buyer that the '84 has parts 13 years older within, but I'm sure that isn't a winning marketing plan.

This isn't a situation where the vehicle is being sold to anyone else - I may be BUYING a stripped tub, and was simply figuring out the best way to transport it with available parts.

Thanks to all for the info.
