Targa rollbar liner l-o-o-s-e
The rollbar liner in my '83 SC Targa is loose. It's not noisy, and I didn't notice it until I needed the interior light to actually work (late one night getting into the car), and it doesn't.
It is secured on both sides (near seat tops) but not at the light housing. I can't for the life of me see/feel how it is supposed to be secured to the rollbar. Nor can I find reference to it in the Haynes manual . . . Anyone have any experience with this? I'll fix the light later, after I see how to resolve this little quirk. ------------------ S. Hi,I have just removed the rollbar lining on my 78 SC.The black vinyl material is glued to a metal former with contact adhesive. The matal former with all visible fastners removes then pulls out towards the rear screen. It's held up to the rollbar on cliprequiring the sliding rearwards action to remove.Haynes Manual page 246 "Targa rear window" No 15 only reference i could find.Hope this helps.Guy.

Thanks, Guy. I think I'm going to pull it out to check the status of the clips you're referring to.

Hi Chris, the clip is a "welded on tag",11 in total, welded to the underside of the rollbar.Front and rear edges.I remember when i took mine out it was quite a awkward job,i made the mistake of pulling the cover down instead of sliding back, bending some of the tags along the way.I hope this helps and good look with the job, never a dull moment owning a 911!. Guy.
