Cool Cruizin' Coast Highway listenin' to Jimmy Buffet

Today was a good day for me and my black cab. I just finished a nice cruise down to the beach with her while listening to the mellow tunes of Jimmy Buffet. The weather was just about perfect for a change, with just a light breeze and temps in the low 80's. Lots of kids out today surfing the little break at Dana Harbor with their longboards.

The Cab, she was happy to be unwrapped and brought out for a nice drive. She ran so smoothly. It was almost like she was telling me how pleased she was to be out with me today. Maybe she likes Jimmy Buffet as much as I do.

A couple of pics sitting next to her younger sister after our nice little drive.

Scott,

Each time I see your 996, makes me think I should get rid of the daily driver for a 996.

Well, easy to understand. The 911 is a Jimmy Buffet kind of car. The 996 - as nice as it is - isn't.

I'm jealous though. I was bleeding brakes & doing a valve adjustment in a sauna (Toronto's current weather phase).

Scott,

You know you face a tough choice every day now, let's see should I drive the Porsche or the Porsche? It couldn't happen to a better person. Nice pix.

Thanks guys. Yea, the Cab is a Jimmy Buffet kind of car, for sure. And Michael, yes, you should seriously consider a 996 as a daily driver. It's a great car and really is usable every day rain or shine, hot or cold. They're great out in the twisties too (of course).

That cab is making me envious! I'm still waiting for paperwork to clear on my 85 cab! I talked to my friend and he told me we're getting closer.

After that, time for new brake lines and fluid, a top zipper repair and I'm rolling!

New car lines

I own a 1971 911 E that has been rebuilt as a 73 RS, body wise. The new cars have my eye ! ! The mid year bumper compared to the new style shape leaves "nothing" for me to think about! The 993 and later have a body style that " attracts" my eye.

Any one want to "trade"

Best.

Charles, I've not seen that paint scheme. I guess he finally retired the one that got shot up during the Negril landing?

Yes, I guess driving PCH is a proper use of Buffett, although I think A1A might put you in the proper frame of mind.

Oh yea, I know A1A! I used to live Broward County just a few miles from the intercoastal waterway. That would've been perfect...almost. Perfect would've been top down on Hwy 1 down through the keys. Am I right? Of course I am.
