converting 78 sc to 73 rs body
ok i just bought a 1978 sc coupe and was originally going to buy a 71-73 S but couldnt find one...so now i want that old RS styling and realized i can always backdate my 78. now all i want to do is exterior... and im running on about a 3000 dollar budget for the conversion...how many parts do i need
is it rear bumper, front bumper, ducktail, rear or front fenders? im very intersted in what you guys think it will take for me to pull this off...and is it possible just to switch out the bumpers and tail but not the fenders this is all the questions i can think of right now im sure there will be more and yes i have searched but couldnt find what i was looking for im also located in los angeles...is there a place close by to me that can do this reasonably thanks in advance |

TRE in North Hollywood backdated an SC several months ago and it looked spectacular. Search backdates and TRE. There were at least a couple posts on the car. I think it was viper green.
For what it is worth, you are very fortunate to have TRE in your area as a resource. They really are amazing. Sincerely, Mike |
Oops, Dave at TRE types faster than me...

Kind'a worried that $3,000 won't even pay for paint.

long read...but essential to understand options....
this option is backdating that is reversible ( can update later if you wish) --> http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139484&highlight=ultima te+backdating+series900 - Wil |
I think it was Brad who had his SC backdated at TRE. It came out phantastic. And yes, 3k may pay for the body panels, but not to put them on, leave alone paint them!
