Help with misc. Porsche tool kit parts

I recently went through the factory tool kit and found these in a plastic bag in the kit. Anyone know if these are essential (and what they are?) or did a previous owner just put some spare parts in there?

I would hate to not have an essential repair tool but I have no idea what this thing is.

thanks

erik

Do you have a Cab or a coupe with a sunroof?

I was thinking it looked like the sunroof handle but I am guessing that the snaps and velcro seem to be for a Cab.

Thats a handle for the sunroof panel in case the motor goes out and the sunroof is open. You unzip the zipper near the back of the headliner and use the screw end of the handle and feed it on the transmission piece. You will see where how it screws on to move the sunroof cables to close or open the sunroof. Don't ask me how I learned about this nearly 17 years ago...hehe. Cool find.

so thats the "WIND UP KEY" everyone is asking me about. over and over i hear "WHERE DO YOU WIND THIS THING UP AT?" first i reply its not a "thing"! next i explain its a 911. and finally i tell them you dont wind it up!

i guess i was wrong. now where do you plug the "WIND UP KEY " in? the front or the rear? how many times do you wind it? how far can you go on 10 winds? LOL!

thanks guys. I put it back in the tool kit and hope to leave it there and never use it. I do think I remember something about that when I read the manual when I first bought the car a year ago. Probably time for me to reread the manual!

Anyone have a tool kit for an '82 SC for sale? I'd like to get a used pulley wrench and 24mm socket.

I have an 82SC coupe without a tool kit. Is this sunroof handle in the tool kit? The manual sounds like the handle is stored in the sunroof panel--can't really tell. They don't say it's in the tool kit.

I can get the handle, pulley wrench and 24mm socket from 20th St
for $65, thanks.

There is a jack in front trunk stored horizontally behind the bumper--but I don't see a lug wrench. Is that in the tool kit?

Hytem, the lug wrench should be in the toolkit.

dorschman, nice find. My coupe didn't come with one of those and it would be nice to have...

20th st has it for $15. But it's a standard item (19mm) which can be bought in any auto store for much cheaper. 20th St is a great place to go for used parts, and I thank CharlesKieffner for suggesting it.

You can get a complete tool kit there for $195.
