hard start
My '76 Turbo starts perfectly on a cold start. Thereafter, after its been driven for awhile, any attempt to re-start when it is warm results in numerous unsuccessful cranks before its willing to fire up again. I'll crank it for a few seconds, stop, and repeat the process several times before it fires up.
I am not sure how much throttle to give it while cranking and perhaps that is the problem. Otherwise, it runs great. This is a 20k miles car, if that helps. On another note, I am grateful for the responses that I received on my "difficult steering" thread. Thoroughly cleaning out the steering rack and repacking did the trick. Many thanks. |

How about the hand throttle? Why not try pulling it up half way, and see how that works? You can always experiment up or down some, until it fires.
