wipers don't return to rest

I have a 79 911 SC and when you turn the wipers on and then off they stop and won't return to the resting position. the other problem is that when the switch is in the intermittet position nothing happens with the wipers.

My 76 911s had the exact same problem. Solution: I took off the speaker grill in the dash board (I have no speaker there). You can see the wiperīs motor and all wires there. My problem was just a lose wire. But it could be bad contact on the switch, or even relay problem. By the speaker grill I didnīt find the relay, but I think it should be near the wiperīs motor.

Your 79 SC sounds just like mine. One advantage of no automatic return is that you can park them wherever you want (such as on the passenger side). Check out this site for a detailed description on how to alleviate this problem. http://macmyler.engr.ucf.edu/IntermittentWiper.html

One of these days I will get around to it also.
