Internal Regulator 82 SC
On a 1982 3.0 SC is there a way to verify
That the altenator has an Internal regulator. I checked the pelicanparts catalog and did not see a regulator listed for this model but I just wanted a more definite way to verify the regulator is internal Thanks Joe A |

Hi Joe,
Just did a rebuild on my 78 3.0 Targa. If yours is the same as mine, there is no regulator in the alternator. I have five wires going to my alternator. Hayes shows my voltage regulator on the firewall with the cd unit. You might want to check your wiring diagram - it should show it there somewhere. Regards Steve |

Mine is an 82 3.0 I do not have a car
just the 82 motor and wiring harness that I am putting into a 914. That is why I need to know if I need a regulator. I think on the 82 the regulator is internal... Thanks Joe A |

Well, I just checked the haynes manual for the 82 sc and it shows a regulator with the generator. That solves that problem.
