Shifter Knob

I would like to install an after market shifter Knob on my 1995 993. Does any one know whats involved in removing the stock shifter knob? Can the boot be salvage when removing the stock knob?

Thanks for your help in advance!!

It's either crimped or there is a hex nut holding it on directly underneath the center plastic shift pattern. You can gently pry under it to se if it pops out. If not, it needs to be pulled off the opposite way it was crimped. Sorry I'm vague, Don't get too many 993 questions.Michael

Mike:

You might check out the new Automobile Magazine article on the new 911 Turbo - it shows in very pretty close-up the new shift lever for the Turbo.

Now that is a "work of art" - a Porsche crest in an unusual and ergonomically located place. Quite nice......Andras
