windows

Ever notice, after washing your, 911 you can't get the windows dry. You roll 'em down and up dry them and the next time they go down and up they're full of water again. My gaskets are soft and fit up against the window well. The most disconcerting thing is that the water is in the door doing damage to the electrics and who knows what else. Any solution?

I recently replaced all of the weatherstripping related to the doors on my Targa.
I found that the felt strip underneath the outer "squeegie" was totally shot. (read: DISOLVED!) Anyway I replaced them both and I have noticed a difference in the amount of water that seeps down in there. I know of no perfect solution other than that is normal. As for further concerns go, I have never heard of any stories of regulator/motor damage due to water drainage. Some others might have more insight than me. I would however suggest that you remove your door panels and really clean the bottom seam of the doors. Debris, dirt and grime can collect at the bottom, in at or around the drain holes designed to "drain" the water.
Good luck and don't sweat it too much!!!

Actually I don't think you need to worry about this, since your regulator motor is out of the way of the glass. It is to one side of the glass, not under it. Since the water stays on the OUTSIDE of the glass, and runs down the outside, it is not getting anywhere near your motor.

But I agree that this can be a bother - every time you clean your car, and then dry the glass, once you roll down the windows, soon after, they are wet again. But after a few hours, the felt dries, and you can "safely" roll them down......Andras
