Track suspension question

I have a 1973 with a 2.8 in it. I am running 225's up front and 245's in the rear. I am going to try to use 33mm rear torsion bars in the rear with no rear swaybar and have a 23mm sway bar in the front. The question is, should I go with 22mm or 23mm front torsion bars?

Thanks,
Chris

With 33mm, use 23mm or 24mm.

IMHO, polls are great for collecting majority opinions - some informed, but most somewhat less informed. ;)

Probably not the best way to guide your suspension buildout. Feel free to contact me for some guidance (I see you are just down the road), or choose someone else who's opinion you respect.

Chris: Why no rear swaybar?

Chuck: Who makes 24mm front bars?

24mm, I've got them. Pelican can special-order these from me.

From what people have told me your going to get loads of understeer with no sway bar in the rear, LOADS....

I had a similar setup on my 914 (23mm front torsion and front sway and 180lb rear springs no rear sway). With no limited slip it lets the rear track very well. Track records were set with this setup. I spoke with a few folks about this for a 911 and several thought it would be a good setup, a few have tried it and liked it. However, they have only gone to 22mm front torsion with 23mm front sway and 32mm rear torsion. I am wondering if the 33mm rear torsion would warrant a move to 23mm front torsions. From what everyone has voted so far, it seems like the resonse is yes....23mm.

Thanks,
Chris
