Disassembling elec mirrors

My left mirror is loose , the base is tight on the door but where it splits for moving the mirrors towards the body its loose.

Does anyone know how they come apart?

I can take the base off the door with a hex key but I dont see how to take it apart further

Yes, you take the hole mirror off and underneath the base youŽll see the place to adjust. It needs an specific tool for that, I donŽt know how you call it in english.
My 76 911s is like that.....

If its SC type, there are three pins that attatch the glass to a thin metal backing plate. Very gently pry the glass off the metal plate and you will see that there are 3-10mm(I think they are 10mm) screws that hold the plate to the mirror housing. Good luck and hope it helps.

I call it a locknut and all you need is a screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase the spring tension.

I dunno about SC's, but my turbo mirrors actually are prised off of the backing. There are metal spring pins that just wedge themselves into holes in the backing...

Careful!
