Does a boxter muffler fit a 911?

They look a similar shape to a 911 muffler but I've only seen pictures. I have B&B headers which finish out wide and could just be plumbed into such a muffler. Anyone have any idea?

Well, I have a '73 911 and a Boxster S. I recently installed a sport muffler on the Boxster so I've become quite intimate with that end of the car! I don't see how the muffler would fit an early car, due to the inlets being at the end of the muffler with "J" pipes attaching. Perhaps something wider, like a 993 could be adapted, but I don't know why anyone would want to.

The other issue; I have no idea how you'd mount the thing. It is quite large and heavy...

Thanks guys. The pictures I have seen are after market jobs. Look more like a hot dog style muffler or maybe I've never seen one from the angle above. Ben a muffler of that design could look stock from behind. Have outlet under the over riders?? Easiest solution may stil be
Your 993 exchangers and your new muffler. Been trying to track down 993 exchangers here in OZ. Hard to find and expensive. Ben if you could get exchangers, flip the flanges and muffler to suit I would be as happy as a pig in mud! JMatta thanks for the photos. Defo a no go!!
