mystery tool
I am the new owner of my second '88 Carerra coupe. I found the tool in question in the glove box. It is a small (1.5in.long) black plastic dowel. The knurled handle end is @3mm dia. and the other end is a smaller hex shape @1.5mm. The car has always been kept extremely original by a very picky previous owner. If I had to guess, I'd say it had something to do with the Reno radio- but for all I know it may be the wind-up key for a talking Barbie. I enjoy the forum greatly. Thanks in advance. -Ray

Just a suggestion without having a good picture of your tool in mind:
May be it is for pulling the antenna, if completely lowered? If you have an electric one-just forget this note. |

I replaced my Reno radio last fall and I recall having that item in the parts ,I think, of my new radio. I could not account for its use and put it in the box when I put it away. I think it is use for some type of adjustment on the back of the radio, but another tool works, hence the confusion of its purpose. If is is really important, I will dig it up and try to figure it out for you. Do not worry, it is not the key to the universe. Michael

Thanks for the feedback guys. Michael was in fact, correct about the tool. I scoured my radio owners manual and discovered the tool is used for a minor adjustment on the underside of the radio having to do with traffic reports. Can't imagine I'll ever need it unless the universe is in need of adjustment. Thanks. - Ray
