Great weekend

I just have to say, I took the 73 off the jackstands and drove it around this weekend. I forgot how fun it was to drive. It looked a little funny with just one polished wheel, but oh well, Ill just have to get on the other three.

I see you live in Houston. Do you winter your car there? In Pittsburgh, the conditions from December to March are bad for high performance driving,(snow, ice, salt, potholes, etc.) I just got my car of the stands a few weeks ago and I know how you feel. It's kind of like you just bought it again. Now if I can convince my wife that there is a long trip I need to go on.

As far as polishing the wheels go, I am just making it up as I go along. I did find that oven cleaner will take the old surface off. I have spent quit awhile on that one wheel only because i thought I would try and wet sand it( dont do it unless you need to ). The wheel Im working on now Im just spraying it and letting it sit for awhile, rinsing and then polishing. You will then see what did not come off, so you start over again. It is working out pretty good, you could probally do one in a day or less if you have that much time to spend at one time. I checked with a place here in town to see what they would charge to strip them, 100.00 a wheel.I dont see that happening. As far as the jack stands, I just had it up so I could work on the wheels. I do keep it in a heated garage but thats about it. And your right, Its kinda like you just got it all over again.
