Wheel locks
I have a set of wheel locks on my '81 SC that are about 20 years old.
The jerk at Goodyear used an impact wrench fixing a flat tire and sheared all of the drive pins off of the key. This lock was popular about twenty years ago - it is the one with the five, irregularly spaced, .125" diameter drive pins. I need a new key. My key number is 5K but I can't locate the company that made it. I don't know if they are still in business. Any help would be appreciated. |

Those are Garretson Enterprises locks, and they are out of business, sadly. I would suggest emailing Bruce Anderson for ideas, as he was with GE back then, and may know who might help you. As a last resort, take the old key with sheared pins to a machine shop, and see if they can rebuild it. I think you now understand why I get homicidal thoughts about idiots with impact wrenches even approaching my car!!!

To get those locking things of without a key, you can sometimes drive the right sized 12-pt socket onto it and get it off that way. Ruins the socket though, probably.
The ones I have maintain a place you can call for new keys. Perhaps for less than you'd pay to rebuild your key. |

I had the same problem myself. One piece of advice I received was "once these locks are removed, throw them as far as you can." I finally found that Automotion sells the keys individually. Part# WL-901.
