Timing Light in Southern California?

I am in Camarillo staying with family and in need of a timing light. I did some work on the car yesterday and it seems to need some adjustment. Anybody nearby able to help? If you can help, please PM or e-mail your number to mikellaw@hotmail.com and I will give you a call. Thanks!

***UPDATE: THANKS GUYS, WENT ON WITHOUT***

No clutch slippage. The tac jumps is all, not the engine.

Scott,

You should add this to your trip thread - everyone will see that and want to help. When are you planning on getting home? If no-one shows up with a light in time......you can do a few full throttle accelerations and advance the distributor until it starts to ping under hard acceleration, then back it off a couple of degrees. That will at least get you back on the road, and probably very close to where the timing should be. We're all rooting for you - keep the updates coming.

Thanks Rex. The car is running well, but idling at 1.5. It doesn't ping on hard acceleration or on a hill. The strange part is when I punch it at 4K or so, the tac pegs to 8K, even though the motor definitely is not reving that hight. As long as I am constant, the tac is fine. I think it is okay to drive, but thought I would give it a shot for a timing light. I am just going to head out North to San Luis Obispo now.

Scott,

Just to be sure of what you mean.......when the tack goes to 8K, the engine is NOT revving up? Like the clutch is slipping? Just want to make sure you are not heading out with a slipping clutch.

I'm in Newhall, about 40 miles away, but I can't get to you today or tomorrow, if you want to come to me, let me know.

Buy one from Pep Boys and return it if you don't want to own one, or another one.
