911 Security System
What do you guys recommend for a '88 911 Carrera security system? You think an alarm would be good enough or should I get added protection? What do you think about pulling the DME and is it simple to do? Battery disconnect?
Thanks guys! |
Denver boots on all four wheels, or trunk monkey.

Damn....you beat me to the trunk monkey! You can search for the thread from yesterday, or just use this link:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8avOiTUcD4Y I ALMOST feel guilty about suggesting it 2 days in a row.;) |
Ah nothing like messing with newbies who don't use the search key.
You live on an Island, where are they going to take the car too? Aloha |

Ice is the problem in that corner of the world. Addicts will steal anything -- usually badly.
Alarms are useless. Get a removeable steering wheel and LoJack. |
Ice is a very bad problem here. However, your typical druggie won't steal your car. Instead, they'll just break into it and take whatever they can. I have a bigger problem as I have a Carrera Cab, so all they have to do it cut the top. The best thing to do is not leave anything in the car that would be attractive for people to steal.

WPOZZZ, looking at your sig, I'd be tempted to use the 525i as a aily driver and only take the cab out when I could keep my eye on it. Looks like you have a good stable to choose from:)

The wagon is my daily driver. However, I am getting rid of the M5 since there is no room for the 911. I think I have it figured out. 525 for daily, 540 for nites out and the 911 for FUN! The 635 still sits as we have no track anymore.
One thing that is good for me is I work out of my house so my cars are all safe. I used to have an office in downtown with secured parking so I would park my old 450sl with the top down. |
