930 track makeover: a touch of evil?

finally took my 30 yr old track virgin to the Glen (I've owned 14 months); and in the process traded some bling for evil?

before:

after:

and finally turn 13

took it easy most of instructors day on fri, we are still getting used to each other. mentally, I was still in my 73, which I have been tracking for the last 27 years.

had to keep telling myself, whale tail, bigger tires, lots more ponies ..... go faster.

by last session on sat, i was able to keep up pretty good with the rest of the instructors, and by sunday i was making a few(lots) passes.

new k-27 s from steve kasper(imagine) is awsome, new B&B sys performed flawlesssly, with no leaks in any of the new oil lines. no i/c yet so lag is almost non-existant above 4,000. oil temps stayed 170-210 the whole weekend.

still on the fence as to whether to keep it as concours queen, or continue to enjoy the tracks.

Get off the fence and race the thing... your post clearly can't hide your smile and the fun you had on the track.

How many posts read something like; "...and then I polished the door handle - great fun, then I cleaned the tires, awesome....". You get the point.

One day when we sit with a cold beer on cloud nine the stories are all we have left.

Drive it please.

Personally, I like the before picture better. I would track it and drive it hard, but keep it up cosmetically as well, a la Jack Olsen.

I've never seen lower rear valance vents like this before.

Custom, aftermarket or factory issue?
