Best "Injection Cleaner" for CIS?

Just curious is there is a preferred "injection cleaner" for CIS cars. I've used Teckron in my EFI cars...is that best for CIS?

As an aside, what's the difference between a good "carb cleaner" and a good "injection cleaner"? (..besides the obvious..)

Thanks!

Techron is reputed to be very good. Berryman's B-12 Chemtool is still a favorite, and has been for decades.

Adding the word 'Injector' to the can or bottle ads about $5 to the price, IIRC!

I have used both Techron and B-12 ... and have seen improvements in gas mileage with both. My real problem with the Techron hype is that there are too many different 'versions' on the shelf!

B-12 Chemtool seems to work as well as the 'best' Techron if you use two 15 oz. cans in place of one bottle of Techron. Note that B-12 used to come in 16 oz cans ... and I don't believe they changed the formula, either! B-12 used to be available in one gallon cans and five gallon buckets ... both stores here that carried it have gone out of business, though!

I prefer BG, which you have to get from an authorized dealer. I get it from the parts guy at my Porsche dealer. You have to add it to a full can of gas, or it may dilute your engine oil.

That's what I was afraid of! :p How much difference can their be?

I'll stick with the Techron. (I don't think I've ever seen B-12?) I just didn't know if there was something better for CIS or not. I'm guessing not really.

How would a fuel injector cleaner added to your gas dilute your engine oil?

Carl,

It is sprayed into the cylinder, and builds up, or begins to wash down the oil on the cylinder walls. Same for Techron, which is why they say to add it to a full tank of gas, and not a half tank.
