69 T distributor conversion

I have a 69T with the Marelli distributor. My mechanic replaced it with a 67 S Bosch distributor, and said it would work fine. Is this so? The cams are so different that there must be a difference in the distributor advance curve characteristics. Can I get springs and weights to modify the 67 S distributor to work like a 69 T curve? Which Bosch 911 T distributors will work in this car, and is there a good aftermarket replacement distributor? Thanks for your help.

If your total advance is set correctly at 6000 rpm, 33-35 degrees, and if there isn't a problem with knocking anywhere in the rev range with the poor gas we have these days compared to 1969, I can't immagine why there would be a problem ... there really wasn't that big a difference! Seriously, most people would WANT the 'S' distributor, as it may actually give a bit more power at low to mid range just off idle!

Thanks a lot.
I noticed that it balks and hesitates at 2000 to about 2800 then comes on fierce. Doesn't ping or anything. Thought it could be an advance curve problem (advancing too quickly or something). The carbs need adjustment and probably new jets, but before having that done I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to start chasing my tail with drivability and fine tuning problems. Once again, thanks for your advice. Have fun
