Ronin, here is a pic showing the "generic" industrial bearing numbers for the rack. Any bearing supply house will be able to look them up and come up with a replacement. I got mine from a local well stocked NAPA store. I found the exact same bearings in a MSC (industrial supply company) catalog also.

The ball bearing pictured above is what was causing my problem. It was worn to the point that it would allow axial movement up and down of the pinion shaft of about 1/8". This allowed the pinion teeth to travel up or down before actually DRIVING the rack back and forth.
