Where to buy parts in NYC?
Anybody know where I can get stupid parts like points, cap, etc in NYC? My garage is in Brooklyn, but anyplace that might actually have a Porsche part would be great.
Thanks!

You're kidding, right?
That's like walking into Starbucks asking "Anybody know where I can get a cup of coffee?"

Our host has all the parts you need! Plus you will help to support this terrific forum. In all honesty, I can find parts for a few cents less, but I get soooo much from this site that I gladly support it.
Just my $.02 AStark

If it's an emergency you could ask your local Porsche Shop
-There is one in my hood in the Navy Yards- to order parts from Worldpac. I did this the other day when I needed an oil filter (though I wasn't crazy about the Bosch Brand which I received).

WAIT!
![]() For the record, I will always support Pelican and buy from them! It's not about money but more about time. When you're trying to get a barn find running and you need parts as you discover they're bad, it would be really nice to get the part same day. If I have to wait even 3 days for each part I need to keep it going, it will be FOREVER before any progress is made on the project!! Thanks Dan for the only answer that properly addressed my question. Are you talking about the shop with the 356 on the roof? Could you give me a name?

If you are a PCA member a lot of the dealers wil give you a discount. When I'm in a hurry, I go to Pepe Porsche in White Plains. They give me 20% off. They also greatly discount their labor for PCA members. ($91.50 vs $130)

Pelican. With the free shipping there's no reason not to.
A visit to the local dealer is a reminder of why there is a thriving mail order Porsche parts industry in the first place.

Hey Matt,
It's the European Car Garage 215 Park Ave in Brooklyn. Formerly Eurosport on Gold Street. Sakis and Andrew are the owners (I live two blocks away) Their number is 718 852 2926 I think the place you mentioned with the 356 on the roof was in Park Slope and is now a bank ![]() BTW we still need to have that Brooklyn Porsche Gathering!

Sounds tasty:
La Locanda 432 Graham Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211 Phone: 718.349.7800 [L Train to Graham Avenue] A tasty, cheap, hipster free Italian joint. From Village Voice "That a non-hipster restaurant can still open in Williamsburg is a shock. This nonconformist, decorated in Jersey Suburban, was founded by descendants of immigrants from the Italian town of Teggiano. Though the house tomato sauce is somewhat bland, there are many admirable nonna ("grandma-style") dishes, including an eggplant rollatini oozing good ricotta, deliciously plain escarole and beans, and spectacular linguine with broccoli rabe and garlic, a special some days. After dinner, hop across the street to enjoy the coffee and killer cannoli at Caff? Capri. "

Be careful, though. Ordering your parts for a couple of dollars less for some "parts house" that's really a dropshipper can get really frustrating when you don't get the right part, or get it in 3 weeks.

I was told that PP does not dropship. My last order was delayed a week so they could get an OEM part from Atlanta. It was 5 days from the time I placed my order that I was told this. My whole order had been held up because of it.
