Rebuilding cab from scratch?
My cab just got killed. 85, 140,000 miles. Looks like most body/frame damage. I was thinking of parting it out when someone, fellow Pelican, offered me his 84 tub. I am not sure that I can tackle such a project, but boy would it be fun to build a P-car from the ground up. Can anyone think of potential pitfalls? I have experience with some minor repairs but this seems like a big project. I am trying to think of all the potential "while you are in there"s, but I am talking about taling the whole dam car apart. Plans for rebuilding the tranny or engine though. Seemed fine before the wreck. Or is this stupid?
Thanks for your input. Lawrence Also, could someone help me with what order to do things? |
Bill,
If you are doubting your ability already, I would not even start this. Don;t call it being stupid, though. Realizing that you don't have the abilities or tools is good. Not that it CAN"T be done but if you get it started and can't do the work it will cost more to have somebody else come in and finsh the project. Do you have the space to take on a long project? Just my .02. |
