Front & rear windscreen installation

After restoring the bodywork & respraying my '69 911E I have got to the stage of refitting all the glass & trim.Has anyone got any tips on refitting the front & rear screens (I'm using new rubber seals)- in particular with regard to preventing the aluminium inserts popping out at the corners?
I seem to remember having a few problems when I did this a number of years ago on a 911SC.

after the rubber is on the glass, put thin unbreakable twine into outer rubber groove..starting from the bottom middle and going all the way around and meeting back up at the bottom middle. Lay the windshield onto the car...get another outside pushing toward you as you pull that string slowly.
Use a good soapy mix of water in the new outer rubber to get it to take on the cars metal lip.....SQUIRT This on the rubber before the offering......
Luck to ya...........
