Real valve cover gaskets?

Looking through the Automotion catalog these caught my eye. Any experiences out there? Also I recently attended a PCA tech session and one of the presentors was quite outspoken in favor of a synthetic oil called Royal Purple. He also suggested their syth for the gear box too. For what it's worth he had some beautiful race cars with some very expensive motors. Again any input? Thanx david
