Differance between 71 and 73 drive shafts
Are they interchangable, they both have the 2 dowel pins, with 4 allen bolts-TIA-Bill

I believe the early 915 gearboxes use the same 4-bolt CV joints.

915's to mid-74 use four 10mm bolts and a pair of roll pins.

I believe the axles on the early 915 transmission are slightly shorter than those for the 901 gearboxes. From memory I think they were about 5mm difference. Given the CV joint's allowed excursion, I didn't think it would be a problem. I went and used a set of 69 axles on my 72, and they seem to fit and drive ok. Paul.
