front a/c condenser

I have a 1976 911S with a VPC A/C system. I am looking to improve the performance of the system. I will be adding the Sanden compressor. I also would like to increase the condensing area in the system. Currently I only have the rear condenser. Has anyone added a front condenser? Does any one have a break down of parts needed and where they go?

For a few years back in the 70's, VPC supplied an auxillary A/C condenser that fit in the left reat wheel well of a 911. The high pressure hose off the compressor ran to the Aux. condenser which then ran in series to the rear (engine lid) mounted condenser. I installed one in my 71"E with a small electric fan and it really made the AC work great. Incidentally, I used a Sanden 507 compressor on a modified Behr mount with vernier belt adjustment. Also used the Behr evaporator which had more heat exchanger surface area than the VPC unit. How do I know all this? I worked for VPC in Fort Worth, TX for 10 years.

Thanks JB! Now my next question is, are the parts still available for the wheel well condeser. It sounds easier to install then the front mounted unit. If you have any diagrams of the unit they would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I believe I already have the Behr evap unit. I noticed the name Behr on the housing of the evap unit, am I correct?

You can get a version of the front fender
a/c condensor used on the 993 from Patrick
Motorsports in Az.
