rocker shaft question

while looking at my valve adjustment project, my friend noticed that my rocker shafts are not centered with respect to the rocker. they are all protruding out the same side of the aluminum housing.... by about .030 inch or so. he said they should be centered ......and that makes sense. however i can't see how they all could be shifted the same way...or could have moved the same way. i'm pretty sure it has not been disassembled after it left the factory. so the question is....are these shafts supposed to be centered? i don't want to move them because they have been worn in in this position....unless all the wear is on the rocker bushing.

The shafts should be approximately centered on the rockers, but not on the cam housing ears. In other words, don't be alarmed if you see one end of the shaft and not so easily see the the other end of the shaft. You report .03" (~1mm)....protrusion...I would not worry unless you have a leak.
