I've created this new thread to tie a question from two other threads together.
For everyone who is planning on attending the 33rd Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races and would like to meet up with some other pelicans, I have a tentative reservation at Tarpy's Roadhouse for 5PM in their Patio Room. My reservation is for 20 people and we must leave by 8PM so that they can prepare for their next reservation. I can change this (room or number of people), but I must do it by this Friday when I have to firm-up the reservation. There are a few more options that we can choose from if we collectively decide to. They offer a "Set Menu" (includes salad, main course, desert and non-alcoholic drink) for $30 a person. We could reserve another private room (either the library for $150 or the vendor's room for $50) that are currently available. The time is set for all of these rooms from 5PM to 8PM due to previous bookings. I figured for those who would like to take a drive, we could caravan down to Cannary Row or else where after the dinner. Let me know what you guys think, Matt

Another option would be Duffy's in Monterey. I am told the food is great and the beer better. Have not been there myself but the locals I know say its a good place that may not be so crowded.
Duffy's Here is the link to Tarpy's for those who are wondering also Tarpy's Dave, Saturday night/evening. Are you heading up for this?

Day for Tarpy's? Great spot. Down town will be too packed. Around the corner from Tarpy's is a 7-11 with more parking.

5 pm okay by me- how about the others?
btw- Friday evening in carmel valley there is this bar/restaurant that is the local cruise hot spot- except on barry bonds steroids when the historics/concours are there. Last year saw Derek Bell and family, several notable auto writers, tons of weird and wonderful cars inc a tiller steered 190? single cylinder horseless carriage as original a barn find driven the 2 miles to/from the place
