CV boots- Am I insane??

I have a '74 911, it seems it is all stock. I can't find a part number on the cv joints, but bought boots for the cv's. I can't get the boots on the flanges. The flanges measure about 67mm and the boots are 55, wrong boots or should they stretch?

My parts number catalog indicates an assembly number 923 332 037 00, Dust Bellows with Flange.
901 332 293 12 for the bellows only.
Does this match what you have?

The 74 should be a 4-bolt CV, which aside from having 4 bolts is larger in diameter than the 6-bolt version used on later cars (started 6 bolt in 75?).

yes it is a 4 bolt, no part numbers on anything though.

The part numbers I quoted are for the 6 bolt 8mm flange.
I don't have the numbers for your four bolt, two pin assembly.

The boots you have are the wrong ones. They shouldn't have to stretch more than 1/4" to fit over the flange.

Thanks All, it seems I am just being stoopid. I checked my original order through the order history page (thanks Pelican) and that is what I ordered. I will try again today, and get a pic too.
