Help to identify tail type

I posted a tail for sale on the sale section and a question arose about whether the tail was a factory carrera tail or an aftermartket. Any ideas on how to tell the difference. I have pulled it off the sale untill I can figure out what it is. On the underside of the tail there is a raised porsche crest in the black area and an impressed porsche in the red area.

The embossed crest are signs of a factory tail.

...and easily copied for aftermarket parts.

Unfortunately a good repro base may be hard to distinguish from a factory piece. (IIRC, the later tails were made of a material called "Fibron" which is a bit different from fiberglass.)

A very common scenario is a repro base and factory rubber lip. The lip is harder produce accurately and most copies are spotted easily, especially as they age.

Did the factory carrera tails have the rubber edge like the turbo tail or were they one piece.

Factory tails did indeed have the rubber edge, as do many, but not all reproductions.
