I'm on a roll today, what happens when gas gets too expensive or runs out?

What will we run our beloved machines on?

What happens to MFI CIS systems when we need to find an alternative?

Natural Gas, Ethanol. what can we use??

I think as long as theres a market for petroleum it will be around I dont think every one is just going to give up their car hobbies.

fossil fuels are a finite resource, what I'm asking is what other fuels can a flat six run on?

what induction systems are or could be available ?

You can run it on anything, but to do so you will basically have to rebuild the motor for the fuel, IE carbs and CSI aren't going to cut it for methanol, you will need to add EFI, and a bigger tank to hold the additional fuel you need to maintain your range, the you will have to replace every rubber hose that is in contact with fuel with ones that will stand the exposure.

But I agree, gasoline is not going anywhere, the more expensive Oil becomes, the more recoverable oil reserves there are. There are huge reserves of potentially recoverable oil in the US and Canada, and given the right prices they will start being developed. So you may end up paying $5.00+ a gallon, but you will still be able to by Gas is you want it. Oh, and it's not going to be cheaper to run methanol, large scale production doesn't make sense until those kind of prices either.
