Kato - Sorry about the wrong info about that ribbed tube. It looked to me like a tube just for the AC too. I guess I was wrong and now I'm glad I left it in according to Jim's post.

I plugged both both those holes with body plugs. You shouldn't be getting water in there anyways. But who knows, maybe I mucked that one up too. :rolleyes:

It has nothing to do with the A/C condensate from the evaporator (which you have already removed). The ribbed plastic line drains water from the bottom of the duct fed by air intake vent on the cowl just forward of the windshield. If the ribbed line is removed this water will go somewhere else; mostly into the smugglers box and possibly into the passenger floor area if the triangular shaped hole in the "firewall" is not well sealed.

I am now finished! Thanks for all of the help along the way. I still have a few more questions if that's ok.

1) Does anyone know what these wires connect to in the smugglers box?

2) With regard to storage in the smugglers box: I assume that I should take with regard to the steering thing-a-ma-doodle?

3) Now that the A/C is gone should I remove the A/C fuse? I don't use the power seats at all either - they are on the lowest possible settings. (I think they're on the same fuse)

4) Is it worth trying to sell any of these used parts? They are all in pretty good shape. When my wrench diagnosed the A/C system there was a small leak. He filled the system with UV dye and found no visible leaks on the shop floor. His conclusion was that it was most likely the evaporator or a part of hose in an enclosed area.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm trying to price the resistor pack. The part number sticker on the pack is 911.573.073.01

When I put this into the Pelican search I get "Connector Housing" for $302.67 Does this sound right?

Typically Parts Heaven and LA Dismantlers are usually around $25-$30 dollar range for a good used resistor pack. If you know yours is good that's about right. AFAIK anyways.

I assume it works. Any way of testing it now that it's out?

I don't have the exact answer for you but it is a 'resistor' pack. So it should be as easy as measuring the resistance (ohms). Maybe the Bentley book has something on this. I can look in mine tomorrow to see if they say anything about it. That's all I have right now....
